Our Story
Three generations. One mission.
Hampton Tedder Electric is a family-owned, woman-owned high voltage contractor with over 60 years of unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and our people.
Founded on Family
A legacy built one project — and one generation — at a time.
What began as a small family electrical business has grown into one of the most trusted high voltage contractors in the western United States. Three generations of the Tedder family have led the company with the same commitment to craft, safety, and service that defined day one.
Today, more than 500 employees power Hampton Tedder Electric across California, Nevada, and Arizona. We serve the largest investor-owned utilities, municipal power providers, and industrial customers in the region — building, maintaining, and restoring the electrical infrastructure that communities depend on.

Leadership
Christine Tedder
President
Christine Tedder has served as President of Hampton Tedder Electric since 1985. Under her leadership the company grew from 20 employees to more than 500 — while remaining a family-run operation rooted in the values she inherited and amplified.
In 2008, Christine secured Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) certification, formalizing Hampton Tedder's identity as a woman-owned contractor. She holds California General A, C-10, and C-31 contractor licenses and is an active advocate for recruiting women into the electrical trades.
Women in the Trades
We actively recruit, mentor, and promote women across every role — from apprentice lineworkers to project managers and executives.
WBE Certified
Certified Woman Business Enterprise since 2008. We meet supplier diversity requirements for utility and government projects.
Family Values
Three generations of Tedder leadership means accountability isn't a slogan — it's the name on the door.
